William Byron Stocking

William B (Bill) Stocking was born March 11, 1937 in Houston to Harold and Amelia Sugg Stocking and passed away on October 18, 2026 in Shreveport. 

He was a graduate of Lamar High School and the University of Houston where he received a degree in accounting. After college, he went to work for H A Lott and during that time he met Dottie in 1974. They moved to Heflin in 1978 and were married June 25, 1978. He worked for Robinson Plumbing and Cal-Gas until he started his own plumbing company in the early 80’s and retired in December 1995. Bill was an avid history buff and enjoyed traveling to civil war battle grounds.

He is survived by his children Jack Morgan (Cheryl), Jim Morgan (Janie), RoseAnn Sigafoose (Mike), Jerry Morgan (Yleana), Joe Morgan (Liz), grandchildren James, Travis, JR, Melissa, Kyndal, Josh, Timothy, and Faith and numerous great-grandchildren, he is also survived by nephews Robert Stanley & Shane Stanley (Susan), cousins Melanie Gibson (Brad) and Billy Sugg, sister-in-law Estelle Griemsman, and brother-in-law Bruce Worzel (Eva).

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dottie, and sister Winonah Graham.
