William D. Nash

May 27, 1930 — August 11, 2025

William Dale Nash, 95 of Shreveport LA went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Chris on Monday, August 11th at his home. Per his request, there was no funeral. Cremation has taken place and he is now interned in Michigan. Bill was born in Edwards County, Illinois. He graduated from Albion IL High School in 1948. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1951 and reached the rank of Gunner’s Mate Second Class. He served on the USS Manchester and USS Hancock during the Korean War and was in the reserves until 1959.

Bill was known for his strong work ethic. He spent many years in oilfield trucking. He loved cowboy movies, basketball and fixing things that we brought home from garage sales.

Bill was also beloved for his vast knowledge, quiet wisdom, and quick wit. We will miss his laughter and advice.

He is survived by his wife Pat. They celebrated 71 years of marriage in July 2025. Also surviving are sons David (Barb), Dale (Sharon), his daughter Gayann, two sisters Linda (Chet) and Rosie (Rick), 5 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marty Lynn.

He adored his wife and loved his family. He had many famous sayings, but one of the favorites when we were facing something we didn’t want to do, or we were scared of was “I can stand on my head in a corner and stack BB’s for that long.”.

He was an ordinary man to most, but to his family he was a Hero. He will be greatly missed.

A special thanks to the caretakers that helped us take care of him, Stephanie, Kim and Arma.

John 11:25 “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
