Teresa Ann Margaret
Aegerter
January 11, 1954 – February 6, 2026
Teresa Margaret Aegerter was born into this world on January 11, 1954, to Augustine “Gus” and Allie Mae Matusicky. She left us to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father on February 6, 2026, at the age of 72, after a long-fought battle with cancer. She’ll be remembered for her larger-than-life smile, laugh, and genuine love for people. Her legacy stretches farther than she could ever imagine with the lives she’s touched and the children she raised over the years. She went by many names: Teresa, T, Felissa, Granma, Granma T, Momma T, wife, sister, daughter, friend, but the most important name to her was Mom.
Teresa was born in Cleveland, Ohio, then bounced around in Louisiana; just to settle in Baker, Louisiana at the age of 2. She was the eldest of 7 children and truly lived the life of the eldest sibling. She was a graduate of Baker High School, class of 1972. Her careers carried her through the finish lines of the Super Derby to the closing tables at title companies. She finished her years as a business owner and steward of many talents. Every job and career she found herself in allowed her to carve out her own impact, both professionally and personally, on those she worked alongside. A hustler and a go getter, she would put your feet to the fire and smile as she did it. Everyone that walked away from those points in time all share the same affinity for Teresa, her presence. Through the years of jobs, friends, pets and children, one thing remained constant: her husband Judd who stayed by her side till her last breath. It’s a love some people only dream about. For her, it was the best part of her world. Their love story started with a shared obsession for 80’s hair band music and black leather pants, hair spray and eyeliner, high pitched vocals and big hooped earrings. What a wonderful life they made for themselves. In the final hours of her life, she requested to listen to The Eagles greatest hits. Her love and taste in music was impeccable even in the hours of her death.
Teresa is preceded in her passing by her parents Allie Mae and Augustine “Gus” Matusicky and her dearly beloved sister Marilyn Matusicky.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband Judd Aegerter; children Rachel Alkire and husband Jerry “Alan” Alkire, Brian Gelpi and wife Brandy Gelpi, Danielle Warner and husband Bradley Warner; grandchildren Jordan, Vito, Adrian, Jarrett, Giavanna, Gavin, Sophia, Rocco, and Harley; siblings Mark, Johnny, Matthew, Lisa, and Luke, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Christus Shumpert Cancer Center in Shreveport, Louisiana for their unwavering compassion and care to Teresa.
A memorial service will be held for Teresa on Thursday, February 26, 2026 @ 2pm. Celebration Church- Shreveport, located at 8645 Business Park Dr, Shreveport, La 71105.
Though your body is still here, your soul flies free… Till we see you again….
