Stephen Denzel Huddlestun

October 6, 1943 — May 16, 2025

Stephen passed away peacefully while sleeping in his recliner at home in Shreveport, LA.

He started dating his sweetheart, Scarlett, in September 1961 and married her on March 6, 1964, and loved and spoiled her until the day he passed.

Stephen was a graduate of Newton High followed by the Army Reserve then on to graduate from Eastern Illinois College in Charleston, IL. He then taught Industrial Arts and Auto Mechanics at Newton High in Newton, IL. He built houses and helped family & friends with countless home improvement projects (which he absolutely loved to do) Stephen also rebuilt hot rods with both of his daughters, both son-in-laws & his grandson. He was ALWAYS ready to make any adventure, craft project or build happen that his sweetheart imagine up & planned. Stephen retired from Bituminous Insurance Company.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Minerva and Denzel, his sister, Kay, and granddaughter, Mason.

Stephen left behind his wife, Scarlett, daughters, Tawney and Michan and son-in-laws, Robert and Mickey, his grandson, Stephen Raul, sister, Sue and brother, Dean and many many many nieces and nephews.

Husband/Dad/Grandpa/Uncle/Brother/Brother-in-Law/Father-in-Law/Mr. Fixit/Mr. Safety will be missed by so many.

No flowers necessary. There will be a celebration of life in the country around a bon-fire. Telling stories about the old times like he liked to do.
