Sophie Prestridge Stevens

Sophie Idell  Prestridge Stevens was born on June 7,1919 in Hall Summit, La. to Thomas & Virgie Summers  Prestridge.

She was the 4th of 8 siblings. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 2 brothers, one grandson, Mark Andrew Dinkins.

She raised 2 children in an era when that was unusual for a single mother. Sophie made a career in accounting at Willis Knighton Hospital. She began work there in 1956 until she retired. She was much loved by her family, son Todd (Davie), daughter Jan(Raymond Dinkins), 6 grandchildren,8 great grandchildren and several nieces who spent a lot of time with her visiting on a weekly basis and playing cards. In lieu of flowers make donations to Wounded Warriors.
