Ronald Gerard Botica “Bo” was born July 17th, 1950 and passed away peacefully on January 11th 2023. He was preceded in death by his dad John J. Botica, Mom and Stepdad, Rose, and Joe Knighton. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Botica, Son Jeremy and Wife Julee Botica, three beautiful granddaughters Karalee, Kree, and Kainee Botica; cousins, Wanda Pruett and Sandra Darsey.
He was a standout prep, collegiate and professional baseball player. The Kansas City Royals drafted him out of high school and again by the California Angels out of LA Tech. At that time, the Shreveport Captains were the double A Farm club for the Angels, were he pitched for 2 years before hurting his arm.
He served in the Army national guard for 12 years and then retired as a Captain from the Bossier City Police Department after serving 29 years, with many letters of commendations.
He also loved the outdoors and being on the lake, he was an avid fisherman.
