Patti Goad

Patti Ann Goad (Nanna), 91, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on July 11, 2026. She is now reunited with her loving husband of 59 years, Herb. Patti was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Goad, her parents, Elton Travis and Annie Earle Wilson, and her brothers, Elton Travis Wilson Jr. (Wynne) and Edward Earle Wilson (Lorraine).

Patti was born in Port Arthur, Texas on January 5, 1935. She graduated from Athens High School in 1953 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Louisiana Polytechnic Institute (Louisiana Tech University).

Patti was a loving wife, a caring and supportive mother, and a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. After retiring, she spent years caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren—picking them up after school, providing snacks, and filling their afternoons with comfort, laughter, and the kind of steady presence only she could give. Her warmth made family and friends feel at home and her quiet strength made her grandchildren feel safe and loved.

A lifelong animal lover, Patti found special joy in Shetland Sheepdogs. She and Herb were assistant founders of the Northwest Louisiana Shetland Sheepdog Club in Shreveport, where they spent many years showing their beloved Shelties, supporting fellow exhibitors, and building a community around the breed they adored. Patti’s Shelties were not just pets—they were her pride, her companions, and her joy. She poured her heart into showing them, celebrating every ribbon and cherishing every moment in the ring. Her home was never without a furry companion, and her beloved kitty, Nala Rose, remained faithfully by her side until the end.

Patti was a faithful member of Noel United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, where she formed lasting friendships and served her community with quiet kindness and fellowship.

She is survived by her daughters: Beth Anderson and husband John, and Laura Brashear and husband Keith; her grandchildren: Weslie Brimer, Lauren Downs, Ray, Lilah, and Wilson Thibodeaux, Sarah Lancon, and Kayleigh Scott; her great-grandchildren: Kayden McIlwain, Brendan Hall, Lesleigh and Grayson Downs, Lexi, Allyson, and Avery Collins, Samuel Lancon, and Elizabeth and Evelyn Scott; her beloved “kitty,” Nala Rose; and many friends who dearly loved her and will miss her wonderful sense of humor and bright smile.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and deep appreciation to Jeremy Sutton “the man in the blue”, Linda Pennywell, Valerrie Jackson, Eva Jones, Schwonna Morris, and Bristol Hospice for the kindness, support, and comfort provided to Patti in her final days.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 21st at Noel United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 with the service to follow thereafter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to local animal shelters, LaMa Animal Rescue & Support Services or Robinson’s Rescue.

Patti’s kindness, gentle humor, and unwavering love for both her family and her animals will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
