Shreveport, LA- Jay Sri Krishna. Mradulla Prahlad Asher passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of August 30th 2005, surrounded by her friends and family. Madhu Ved was born on August 4th, 1951 in Dar es Salaam, Tanganyika. She spent her childhood in Africa, learning her good cooking from her mom and older sister, playing on a championship netball team, and helping her parents raise her two younger brothers. After completing her masters in textiles in Bombay she met Prahlad Asher. They married on December 30th, 1975 also in Bombay. Together they moved to Texarkana, Texas where Mrs. Asher studied nursing in order to further the life of her family. She became a registered nurse in 1978 and touched many lives during her 26 years in nursing, ending her career in the recovery room at Willis Knighton South. Madhu was preceded in death by her father Dharsee Makanji Ved, and recently her mother, Jayaben Morarji Parekh. She leaves behind many friends, family, colleagues, and patients. Those whose needs she placed above her own include her husband, Prahlad; Sameer and Mehul, her two sons; her sister Hardika Sampat; brothers Mukesh and Dhiren Ved; cousin-brother Manish Ved and his wife, Priti; cousin-sister Nisha De Leeuw and husband Paul; and her uncle and aunt, Bhupendra and Harsha Ved. Our family extends the deepest appreciation to those that helped care for Mrs. Asher during her experience with cancer. A visitation will be held Friday evening 6-8 pm and a Hindu prayer and cremation will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 am. All are invited to attend both events at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier. In lieu of flowers please make tax-deductible donations to the Sadhu Vaswani Hindu Cultural Center or Feist-Weiller Cancer Center.
