Morris Carl Tirpitz passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021. A graveside Service will be held at Forest Park West Cemetery on Saturday, May 22, at 10am. Officiating will be Joe Huffman, Minister of the Southern Hills Church of Christ. Morris was born February 4, 1926, to A. C. & Orlene Tirpitz and spent his early life at Pine Island, in North Caddo Parish. As an adult, he resided in Shreveport and retired as a heavy equipment operator. Morris had a life-long talent for and interest in music. He played trumpet in the Vivian High band and became the master of many string instruments. Morris was a faithful member of Southern Hills Church of Christ and Magnolia Messenger. He served on the Board of the Ark-La-Tex Christian Camp for many years. He loved fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, by his siblings, Bobby, Lucy, Pauline, Edna, Billy Fay and Doris and his step-son, Robert Wade. He is survived by his daughter Doris Ann (Bill) Gray, his step daughter, Chris (Patrick) Weaver and daughter-in-law, Judy Wade; his brother, A. C. Tirpitz, Jr.; his sister-in-law, Delores Tirpitz; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff & caregivers at Maison de Lafayette and to Hospice of Acadiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southern Hills Church of Christ, Shreveport, or Hospice of Acadiana, Lafayette.
