Michael Wayne Lester

Michael Wayne Lester was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. At the age of 71, he left this world on September 14, 2022, after losing a short but hard-fought battle with brain cancer. Mike was a devoted husband to Pamela for 48 years. They loved each other well and went on many adventures together. Mike was a wonderful “Pop” to his children, Andrea and Jacob. He loved spending time with his family, especially his four grandchildren, Chandler, Holden, Emaline, and Kara. He enjoyed the mountains, but most days you could find him out in his garden. Behind his occasionally gruff exterior was a generous heart and a goofy sense of humor. Mike’s work ethic was like no other. He worked as a computer programmer for over 35 years.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, William Fredrick Lester, and his brother, Eugene Fredrick Lester. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Cooper Lester; his brother, Louis Lester, married to Cheryl Lester; his two children, Andrea Bailey, married to Brook Bailey, and Jacob Lester, married to Meme Lester; and his four beautiful grandchildren, Chandler Gerrard, Holden Bailey, Emaline Bailey, and Kara Lester. A memorial service will be held on September 24, 2022, at Belcher Baptist Church, 313 Gray Street,Belcher, Louisiana, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Joseph Hospice Foundation (stjosephhospicefoundation.org) in honor of Mike.
