Paul Dean

Marion Paul Dean, 80, of Shongaloo, LA passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

Paul was born Christmas Day, December 25, 1943, in McComb, MS to Marion Drexwell Dean and Edith Dixie Rayborn Dean. He was an Air Force veteran who loved hunting, fishing, horseback riding and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Paul was also a deacon at Mt . Paran Baptist Church in Shongaloo.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Rebecca Buffington Dean, two daughters, Kimberly Dean Taylor of Sarepta, Kay Hicks and husband Kevin Hicks also of Sarepta and a son, Christopher Dean his wife Bethany of Marshall, TX. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Tristan Lowe, Savannah Dean, Delayna Hicks, Shelby Hicks and Hazel Dean and two great grandchildren Ellliott Nowosielski and Ensley Tindall, and sister Ann Robinson and her husband Tim of Umatilla, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his infant twin brother Marvin Phillip Dean, his parents M.D. and Edith Dean and his younger brother Thomas Harold Dean and special mother-in-law Alma Mary McElrath Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Shongaloo, LA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mt. Paran Baptist Church.
