Lorrie Ann Parker, 65, of Wallace, South Carolina, passed away on September 19, 2026, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Ann spent her final days enjoying the simple pleasures of life along the shores of Cypress Lake. From beautiful sunrises and sunsets to peaceful boat rides, she made the most of her time with family. The Cajun heat may have been a little more than this Carolina girl expected, but that just made the dips in the pool that much better. The love and laughter that surrounded her made those days special.

A country girl at heart, Ann found happiness in the simple things. She had little use for anything fancy and was perfectly content with a good meal, a fishing pole, a favorite mystery movie, or an afternoon spent catching up on the news on her phone.

Ann was an exceptional cook who brought new meaning to the words “comfort food.” Her collard greens and fatback were among her specialties, and she took great pleasure in preparing meals for the people she loved. Her talent in the kitchen was matched only by her generous heart and her willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Ann also knew the value of a good bargain, especially when it came to shopping at the local farmers markets. She knew exactly where to find the freshest vegetables and the best sales, and she was always ready to stock up when she found a good deal. With five commercial freezers packed full of food, she probably had enough vittles to feed all of Wallace. The only problem was finding what she needed, which inevitably seemed to be buried somewhere at the very bottom.

For Ann, keeping those freezers full was more than a practical matter. It was a reflection of a woman who found joy in having plenty to share and making sure the people she loved never went hungry.

Much like her late husband, Randy “Catfish” Parker, Ann loved to fish. Whether casting a line, preparing a home-cooked meal, or spending time with those she loved, she found joy in the moments that mattered most.

Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randy “Catfish” Parker; her father, Wayne Butler, and stepmother, Betty Butler, of Hartsville; her mother, Helen Melton, and stepfather, Jack Melton, of Teals Mill; and her brothers, David “Bobo” Butler of Hartsville and Michael Melton of Cheraw.

Ann had a big heart and a wonderful soul. She will be remembered for her generosity, her wonderful cooking, and the countless ways she showed her love for others. Her kindness and willingness to help those in need will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Though her passing brings great sadness, there is comfort in knowing that her suffering has ended and that she is with her Heavenly Father and reunited with Randy.

And knowing Randy, there is little doubt that he already had a fishing pole strung and ready when she arrived.

So, Ann and Randy, enjoy those peaceful waters together. Just don’t catch them all before the rest of us get there.
