Larry Joe Beck

December 20, 2020

Larry Joe Beck was born March 28, 1956 to Ed and Florene Beck in Fort Worth, TX.  Larry passed on December 20, 2020 in Shreveport, LA with advanced COPD.  A graveside service honoring Larry will be held at 2:30 PM on January 22, 2021 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, Irving, TX.

Larry graduated from Irving High School in Irving, TX.  After high school he attended Harding College in Searcy, AR with a major in Marketing.  With his education behind him, he joined his father in business at Irving Blvd Truck Sales.  After his father's passing, Larry continued operating the business for 30 years, until he retired.  Larry was very active in Lewisville Church of Christ and was very involved in his daughter’s high school athletics.  He was known as the “Dad in the overalls” that was always available to help any of the athletes and families as they traveled the country for different events.  He was the go-to Dad.

Larry met Dana in 2002 and fell in love.  They were inseparable from that moment forward.  Larry and Dana moved from Flower Mound, TX to Shreveport, LA in 2014 to pursue a new business venture with Dana's sons.  Larry's personality fit in Shreveport's way of life, especially his neighborhood and new church family at University Church of Christ.

Preceding Larry in death are his parents Ed and Flo Beck.  Left to cherish many memories and to continue Larry’s legacy are his wife, Dana; children, Tabitha Lumpkin and partner David Mesko, Bianca Baldwin and wife Lindsey, Logan McDaniel, Adam McDaniel and wife Heather, Brittany Schneider and husband Steve, Craig McDaniel, and Christopher Beck and wife Karina; grandchildren, Simone "Sparkle Girl", Silas "Little Man", Jordie Ann "Jelly Bean", Piers "Jericho", Declan "The Flash", Orion "Little Big Feet", and Ryan; siblings, Terry and Gary Beck, and John Krantz; and other family members and friends.

The family expresses their appreciation for the love and care he received from Willis Knighton South and Bossier.  Larry also received excellent personal care from Dr. John Osborne, State of the Heart Cardiology and Dr. Pradeep Mammen and his wonderful staff at UT Southwestern Medical Center Heart and Lung Transplant Clinic.

Larry loved his large family deeply and especially loved being a Paw-Paw to his 7 grandchildren.  He was a story teller that kept his audience laughing.  His singing was a gift that he loved sharing.  His laughter and beautiful voice will be heard through generations to come.  Larry was known as the man that always left you with these words,

“Have a blessed day and peace be with you!”
