November 19, 1949 — January 28, 2026

Kenneth David Cardwell, known as David, passed away on Janurary 28th, 2026 at his home in Athens, La. He is proceeded in death by his mother, Billie Sue Lenard Cardwell, and Carol Kenneth “Buck” Cardwell, his brother Wade Cardwell and baby sister, Susie. He is survived by his sister Teresa Ferguson, her husband Keith, a plethora of Lenard cousins, two nephews and one niece, and a slew of grand nieces and nephews.

 He was first born to Buck and Billie in Arcadia, La. After graduating, he married his high school sweet heart, Linda Sullivan (later divorced) and joined the Navy where he received an honorable discharge after serving during Vietnam

 From a globe trotting family, David was an entrepreneur who opened several businesses including The Juke Box Diner in Arcadia during the 1990’s. He also opened a flower shop in Silver Spring, Maryland while his family lived there during his father’s time working as the Deputy Govenor of Farm Credit Bureau. 

David had a love for cool things and a collection that spanned many niches. He was even featured on an episode of American Pickers, where he proudly showed off his collection. David will be missed by many friends throughout the country. A graveside memorial will be announced at a future time.
