Janice Diane Sorrells passed away peacefully on March 30th, 2025.
She was born April 8th, 1952 to Edwin and Mary (Ballard) Clifton in Des Moines, Iowa. Janice was the first born of nine children. She started her career as a nurse’s assistant in Des Moines, Iowa. She worked for the Internal Revenue Service in California for several years. After moving to Bossier City, Louisiana and until her retirement she was the office manager for a transportation brokerage company.
On December 30, 2003 Janice married Robert Sorrells. They made their home in Haughton, Louisiana. Janice was an extremely talented seamstress, quilt maker, and knitter just to name a few. She had a natural born gift. She was good at any craft she tried and there were many of them. She loved to teach and share her skills, tips and patterns with others.
Janice is preceded in death by her father Edwin Clifton, mother Mary Amos, brothers Charles and Melvin Boston, sisters Judy Thompson, Mary Boston, Lorilee Davis, and a great grandson. She is survived by her husband Robert Sorrells, son Todd (Rachel) McKeever, daughter Tonya (Darrin) Nidy, stepchildren Russell Sorrells, Kristi (Kevin) Brown, 6 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brothers Marvin Boston and Leland Davis II, sister Marilee Davis, many beloved and faithful friends and other family members.
Her service will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum Wednesday April 9th at 10 am.
