James Michael “Mike” Mercik was born on November 16, 1974, in Bossier City, LA. He passed away on April 29, 2025, with his wife and sister by his side.
Mike was a vibrant soul—standing up for what he believed in with a strong will and loving heart. His mission in life was to spread laughter with everyone he came across. Mike had a gift of connecting with anyone, whether it was a game of basketball, sharing a good meal, or his exceptional comedic timing. To many, Mike was the sun, shining light into the lives of those he loved. He always managed to find a way to brighten the mood and warm the hearts of others. Mike valued his family above all else. He always looked out for his loved ones and made sure they were happy, protected, and taken care of.
Mike enjoyed exploring the United States during his career as a commercial truck driver. He was able to see many wonderful sights around our country and loved to share all the things that he had experienced.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Mercik; grandfather, Robert Tennyson; and aunt, Lisa Rago.
He is survived by the love of his life, Diana Mercik; three sons: Ted Mercik, Noah Mercik, Eli Mercik; father, Terry Mercik; sister, Angel Heitter, her husband Marc and children; brother, Kris Mercik, his wife Christina and children; and many other family and friends.
We will never forget the impact Mike left in our lives and in our hearts, and we will carry on with the lessons he taught us and the love he gave us.
