Natchitoches--A celebration of the life of Dr. James Ernest Smith, Jr. will be held at the University Club in Shreveport, La. from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2005. Words and song by Dr. Smith's family and friends will take place at 4 p.m., with visitation to follow. Dr. Smith, age 69, died in his home in Natchitoches, La. at 12:20 p.m. on Saturday, January 1, 2005 after a battle with cancer.
