Harry T. Stern, 94, of Bossier City, LA passed away on September 27, 2025 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Harry was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania on June 10, 1931. After graduating high school in Geneva, Ohio, he enlisted into the United State Air Force. Through his travels in the military, he met his soulmate Hanne-Lore while volunteering in a youth center in Germany. Harry and Hanne-Lore got married February 12, 1955. They welcomed their son Wilhelm April 17, 1958, and their daughter Heide August 28, 1963. Harry served in the Air Force for 30 years, where he retired here in Bossier City, LA.
After his military retirement he went to work for Commercial National Bank where he worked as a loan officer for 17 years. Upon his retirement from the bank, he went to work with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office where he worked as a courtroom bailiff, deputy in the civil department and became a founding member of the Sheriff’s Posse. He volunteered with the posse for over 30 years and was still serving twice a week until the very end.
Harry loved spending time with his family, especially weekly Sunday dinners. He was an avid football fan where he cheered on his Ohio State Buckeyes, his grandkids Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and kept up with the local high school scores. He enjoyed going on adventures with his daughter and granddaughter and supporting his great grandchildren at band concerts and karate events.
Harry is survived by his daughter Heide-Marie Anderson, grandchildren Erika K. Anderson and Justin R. Anderson (wife Vanessa), great grandchildren Kameron and McKinsley Anderson, all of Benton and his beloved dog Brutus.
He is preceded in death by his wife Hanne-Lore Stern and son, 2nd Lt. Wilhelm R. Stern.
There will be a memorial service at Boone Funeral Home, Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11 am.
