December 16, 1928 — January 26, 2024

Shreveport

Gladys Carr Johns, grandmother, mother, sister and friend passed away Friday, January 26, 2024. Preceding her in death are her parents Ezekiel and Evangeline Carr, and her siblings: Bertha Lee, Ruth, Patsy, Leola, Ruby, Mary, and Elijah. She leaves behind twelve devoted children: Mary Jane, Gilliam Jr., Johnny, David, Joyce, Dorthy Ann, Jerry, Melvin, Flynel, Cynthia, Sharon, and Debra. In addition, her beloved nieces: Glenda (Pancake), Rose, and Susie as well as host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Gladys loved reading her Bible and always had one near her. She loved telling wonderful stories, and those listening could not help but to laugh out loud. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling with her family, and always had her bags packed, ready to go on her next trip.

Gladys was much loved by those who knew her and will be tremendously missed. We would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to Heritage Manor West staff for their special care and attention.

A graveside service is being held at Carver Memorial Cemetery, Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 - 11:30am. Special thanks to Brother Raymond Mascaux for giving the Memorial Discourse.
