Dudley Whitfield Smart, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Dudley Whitfield Smart, Jr, age 79, will be held Friday, June 6, 2025 at 2:00pm at Holly Springs Baptist Church located at 854 US-79 in Homer, Louisiana. Dr. Jeff Smart will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm.

Mr. Dudley Smart was born September 13, 1945 in Haynesville, Louisiana to Lois Doty and Dudley Whitfield Smart, Sr. He passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025 due to complications from a stroke.

Mr. Smart lived in the Haynesville / Minden area most of his life, with the exception of 20 years when he lived in Arkansas. Mr. Smart worked in the oil and gas industry as a salesman for 45 years. “Pawpaw”, as he was lovingly known to his two grandchildren and three great grandchildren, enjoyed traveling, loved spending time with his family and enjoyed watching old westerns and game shows on television.

Dudley was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Wayne Smart and James Ray Smart. He is survived by his wife, Betty Elaine Smart, his son Jon Lynn Smart (wife Paula), two grandchildren, Drew Smart (wife Ashtin) and Mandy Kelley, three great grandchildren, Zane, Everly and Elyse, and his brother A. W. Smart, Sr.
