Douglas Edward Long

Douglas Edward Long, aged 73, passed away on November 26th, 2024. He was a beloved husband to Donna Jean Long and friend to many. Doug will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Doug was born on September 13th in Greensburg, PA where he spent his formative years. He attended Latrobe High School, Class of ’69. Doug served Honorably as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army and later worked as a Sales Executive around the United States where he prided himself in serving others in his community. Doug and Donna built a close network of friends wherever they went. Throughout his life, he was known for his hard work, honesty, and passion for helping others. 

In his free time, Doug enjoyed boating on Cross Lake, Radio Controlled Airplanes, attending church services at Sacred Heart Church and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. He was an active member of his community volunteering for various causes and organizations to include The 40&8, Shreveport Yacht Club, Knights of Columbus, International Blue Gavel Organization, Toledo Sailing Club, Order of the Yellow Dog, and the American Legion where he served as a member of the board. 

Doug was preceded in death by his wife Donna Long and his father Edward Long. He is survived by his mother Mary Jane Conwell; brother Jeffrey Long; half-brothers Quint and Clint Long; and half-sister Sarah Long.
