Darell Wall, 61 of Mooringsport, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the Carpenter House from complications arising from recent health issues.
Darell was born on February 18, 1960 and made Mooringsport, La his home many years ago. He contributed selflessly to his hometown in numerous ways. He assisted in maintaining the water and sewage system, served as a volunteer fireman for Fire District Seven for more than twenty years, served as Deputy under Police Chief Dale Nix, Jr. and he also served as Chief of Police for the town of Mooringsport.
Darell acquired many handy skills throughout his lifetime making him the “go to” guy to work on small engines, household appliances or almost anything. Many people benefited from his selflessness and giving heart as he was always willing to help anyone at anytime.
He was a member of North Shreve Baptist Church where he served faithfully. He enjoyed greeting church family and visitors at the door on Sunday mornings making everyone who entered feel welcome.
The Lord was merciful with Darell fighting his battle only briefly before calling him home to walk those heavenly streets of gold. He was nothing short of a great man who loved God, his friends and his community. He leaves behind his loving chihuahuas, Chloe and Sassy, and many friends and church family who loved him and will miss him dearly.
A heartfelt thank you to all of the staff and physicians at WK Bossier for the care given to him, as well as the staff at The Carpenter House for showing compassion and keeping him comfortable during his last days.
A celebration of Darell’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 21 at North Shreve Baptist Church, Shreveport La. Visitation will be 12pm - 2pm and the funeral services at 2pm, followed by a graveside service at Memorial Gardens in Mooringsport, La.
