Danny Glyn Scogins

Danny Glyn Scogins, 66, passed away at his home in Shreveport, Louisiana, on May 16, 2026.

Services will be held at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier, Louisiana, on May 21, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Old Shongaloo Cemetery. Pastor Edward Smith will officiate.

Danny was born on June 12, 1959, in Minden, Louisiana, to Morris Glyn Scogins and Audie Lovell Scogins.

He was a devoted partner to Melonie Rose Calhoun for 10 loving years.

Danny had a loving heart, a beautiful soul, and never missed an opportunity to talk about Jesus. He had an uncanny ability to quote scripture and knew his Bible well. His faith was a guiding light throughout his life and a comfort to those who knew him.

Danny is survived by his mother, Lovell Scogins; his sister, Amy Jenny and husband Jeff, and their children, Zach Jenny and wife Celia Jenny and Faith Sanchez and husband Gavin, son Nico; his sons, Michael Scogins, Nathan Scogins and wife Kelli, and Daniel Scogins and wife Brianna; his daughters, Sarah De Los Santos and husband Chris, Amanda Woodfin and husband Jason, and Summer Scogins. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father, Morris Glyn Scogins.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Scogins, Daniel Scogins, Landon Woodfin, Aiden Scogins, Kohl Woodfin, and Mike Harr
