Danny Raye “Pete” Goad, age 75 of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and quiet strength. Born and raised in Northwest Louisiana, Pete was happiest outdoors, whether hunting in the woods or casting a line at his favorite fishing holes. The only thing that rivaled his love for the outdoors was his unfailing dedication to his LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints, teams he supported with unwavering loyalty. He enjoyed playing pool and spent many dedicated years working for Clark’s Allied in Shreveport, where he formed lasting friendships throughout the years.
Pete was known for telling jokes, often followed by his familiar, good-natured phrase, “yeah, really”, despite not always being very good at them, and for the kindness and gentle spirit he carried with him everywhere he went.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents; Frankie Goad and Doris Patterson, his beloved daughter; Honey Lynn Chappius, and cousin; Billy Joe Patterson.
Left to cherish his memory are his three sons: Billy Raye Goad, Daniel Ryan Goad, and Ted Adam Goad; 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brother; Allen Duane Smith, sister; Carol Lee Dickens, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved him dearly.
Pete’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Reeves and his staff; ArkLaTex Cardiology for their many years of dedicated care, and the staff at The Carpenter House for their compassion and support.
A memorial service honoring Pete’s life will be held at a later date. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Ethan Rigsby, Preston Beach, Chandler Beach, Chris Rigsby, Marty Reyenga, Kyle Waldon, and Steven Rigsby.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Pete’s name to The Shriner’s Children Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana.
“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.” Matthew 25:21
