A quiet man passed away this past weekend. Cancer took his vocal cords several years ago, but he didn’t have a lot to say even before that. Maybe it was because his bride of 66 years talked all the time.
Charles Eugene Murphy went to his Heavenly home Sunday, September 12, 2021, with his loving family by his bedside. He was 88 years old. Charles was born on April 19, 1933, in Union County, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Davis and Evie Murphy, three brothers and three sisters. He is lovingly and forever remembered by his wife, Shirley Murphy; son, Russell Murphy and wife Cindy; daughter, Susan Tewell and husband Richard; grandchildren, Sarah Cassanova, Caitlin Mayeur, Jacob Partin, and Tripp Tewell; one great-grandson, Anthony Cassanova, Jr.; one sister, Patsy Rodgers; and one brother, Troy Murphy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends that he dearly loved.
Charles retired from the Battery Plant with 31 years of service and spent his retirement years enjoying his family, home and working in his back yard. His passion was his family and the Arkansas Razorbacks, So-o-ie Pigs! You knew to be somewhere else if they were losing.
A visitation will be held starting at 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 16, 2021 at First United Methodist Church of Bossier City, 201 John Wesley Boulevard, Bossier City, LA 71112. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 AM at the church. Pastor Mark Goins will officiate.
In lieu of flowers please make donation to First United Methodist Church of Bossier City or a charity of your choice.
We’ll think of you as always living in our hearts, cause nothing loved is every lost and you were loved so much!
