Catherine Collier
Nesbit
June 20, 1944 – April 14, 2026
Catherine Nesbit, 81, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed peacefully from her earthly home on April 14, 2026, and is now walking and singing with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on April 20, 2026, at Forest Park East Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana, with Brother James Gstohl officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Catherine was born on June 20, 1944, in Burkburnett, Texas. She graduated from Bossier High School in 1962 and went on to attend and complete her studies at Draughon’s Business College in Shreveport.
She was married to the love of her life, Charles W. Nesbit, Jr., for 47 wonderful years. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and devotion.
Catherine dedicated much of her professional life to the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant and later to LSU School of Medicine. She was a devoted and respected administrative professional, serving alongside Dr. John C. McDonald, whom she deeply admired, and later as Administrative Assistant to Dr. Kevin Siittig and Dr. Kathryn Richardson until her retirement in September 2016. She took great pride in her work and the relationships she built throughout her career.
Outside of work, Catherine found joy in tending to her yard, traveling when she could, and most of all, spending time with her beloved grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as “Mimi.”
She is survived by her children: Joseph C. Scott of Shreveport, Louisiana; Chris Nesbit and wife Carla of Haughton, Louisiana; Angela Lewis and husband Greg; and Amanda Wood and husband William of Bossier City, Louisiana. She was a proud and loving Mimi to her seven grandchildren: Meagan, Matthew, Marshall, Garrett, Grayson, Emily, and Aubrey; and one great-grandchild, John Coulson.
Catherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles W. Nesbit, Jr.; her parents, Earl and Dalena Collier; and her siblings, Charles Arthur Pair, Richard Pair, and Dawn Briggs
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at The Columns of Bossier City and Amedisys Hospice for the love, care, and kindness shown to Catherine during her final days.
