Richard Cessor

d. May 18, 2017

Memorial services for Richard will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Boone Funeral Home-Bossier City. Richard passed away on May 18, 2017, and chose to help others by donating his remains to LSU Medical School for Parkinson's research. As an active member of First Bossier, he used his talent of playing drums and guitar to praise his Lord. In his spare time his passion was buying, and restoring classic Mustangs. He won many awards at car shows for his knowledge and dedication to restoring these classics. Most of the awards were for First Place. He proudly served his country for four years in the USAF. No matter where he was or what he was doing his children, Allen Morgan and Shelby Graves were his true treasures. Later in life, his grandchildren, Sean, Ryan, and Aubrey became his treasures as well. He was welcomed in Heaven by his parents, Jaunice and Roby R. Cessor, Sr. Left to cherish memories are his children, Allen Morgan and wife Tina, and Shelby Graves and husband Jeremy; three grandchildren; sisters, Linda Danielowicz and husband Tom, Evett Sanchez and husband Mike, and Kay Dobbins and husband Larry; Shelby's mother, and Richard's best friend, Yolanda Cantu Little and husband Joe; nieces, Sarah and Vanessa; and nephews, Dustin and Brandon. Richard had many gifts and touched many with his witty dry humor. He was a fighter that never gave up and was an inspiration to many. The family would like to express their appreciation to his doctor of 24 years, Dr. Richard Zweig of LSUHSC, and to Southern Oaks Nursing and Rehab in particular Cliff Hatcher, Administrator, and Dr. Lawrence Drexler. Also, the family would like to express their love to the residents and staff of Southern Oaks that were his second family that loved and catered to him. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Parkinson's Research Fund.
