Christine Marquez Theriot

New Orleans, LA - Christine Mary Marquez Theriot, a long-time resident of Marrero, LA, born on 12/23/40 in New Orleans, LA, died 10/14/14, at Willis-Knighton Pierremont Health Center in Shreveport, LA. Christine's passion was to help others and was a long-time volunteer at The Auxiliary of West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, LA, and last employed at Charity Hospital, Medical Director's Office, New Orleans, LA. In her final years, she was an Auxiliary member and proud volunteer continuing a legacy of service committed to fundraising and donating thousands of dollars to the hospital to be used for patient care, new equipment, renovations, furnishings, employee scholarships, community benefits, and more. Upon retirement, she enjoyed traveling all over the world with friends and mother-in-law, the late Mary Louisa "Mel" Theriot. Christine is preceded by her mother, Dorothy Junker Marquez Naquin; father, Joseph Marquez; step-father, Wilfred Naquin, and brothers, Joe Marquez and Ramond Marquez. She is survived by daughters, Debbie DeSeamus (Ed) from Marrero, LA and Cherie Muñoz from Allen, TX; sons, Larry Theriot (Eva), Haughton, LA, and Eric Theriot, Marrero, LA. As a loving grandmother, on special occasions, she sang beautifully to her loved ones and she was extremely proud of her 7 grandchildren, Amanda DeSeamus of Baton Rouge, LA; Lindsey DeSeamus Flanagan (Mike) of St. Louis, MO; Shaun Theriot (Emily) and Kevin Theriot (Rachael) of Bossier City, LA; Corey Muñoz of Plano, TX; Brandon Muñoz of Frisco, CO, and Christian Theriot, Cape Coral, FL. Christine also had one great-grandchild, Christopher Reed of Bossier City, LA. Since Christine was called early to Heaven, she was unable to hold her soon-to-be born great-grandbaby Theriot. Also, left to cherish her memory is a host of nieces and nephews, some who grew up in her home. Christine's family sincerely appreciates Magnolia Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Willis-Knighton Pierremont, and LifeCare Hospitals of Shreveport, LA, for the year-long, loving, and professional care provided. As she wished, a Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on October 25, 2014 at her daughter's home. Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of your choice. Celebration of Life Service will be held at her daughter's home in Marrero, LA.
