Allen Earl Metts, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, peacefully went to be with the Lord March 17, 2015. He was born June 7, 1948, to Robert Metts and Margie Nell Daniel. As a teenager, he excelled in gymnastics at Woodlawn High School. He lived in Shreveport until serving our country in the Navy Seabees' Construction Battalion in Vietnam. Upon returning home, he continued his career in construction and raised his family. He was a self-taught guitarist, and performed at the Red River Revel and the New Orleans Jazz Festival. He also enjoyed and gained recognition in the MMA. After retiring from construction, he worked several years at Chevyland. Allen is survived by his brother Lawrence Metts, sisters Martha Holland and Brenda Lee, loving wife, Elizabeth, his children; Connie Metts, Robert Metts, Shane Metts and Lisa Lawrence, and many dearly loved grandchildren. His genuine care for his fellow man and joie de vivre will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him. Services are scheduled at Boone's Funeral Home in Bossier. Visitation is from 10AM until noon. Services officiated by Reverend Alan Pittman will be at noon and burial will be at the VA Cemetery in Keithville at 2PM. Pallbearers are Robert and Halen Metts, OD Green, Eddie Lawrence, Mike Free and Phillip Walker, Jr.
